The word Noel comes from the old French word meaning โChristmasโ โ but the French word is a variant of a Latin word meaning โ โbirthโ. Christ was born โ so we could be born again โ He was born and went to the cross and rose again so we could be forgiven of our sins and experience a new birth of purpose, joy, meaning and fulfillment.
The first Noel happened so we can experience our own personal Noel ๐ซ
Weโve all wandered away from God. Weโve all walked away from Godโs path to go our own way. - Weโve lost our way. - Weโve lost our purpose. - Weโve lost our innocence. - Weโve lost our peace. - Weโve lost our joy. - Weโve lost our connection with God and as a result weโve lost our sense of belonging and weโve ended up far from home. Weโre like the prodigal son who rebelled against his father and ran as far away from home as he could to go his own way.
His father, who was always looking down the road hoping this may be the day his son comes home โ He sees the son, while he was still a long way off and the father runs to him and hugs him and holds him close and kisses him and welcomes him home.
We tend to put the face of an imperfect earthly father on the face of God and think thatโs what God is like. But you have a perfect Heavenly Father who loves you, who will never leave you, abandon you, and who will never let you down. You have a Heavenly Father who is strong and powerful and will hold you in His arms and never let you go when you run to Him.
If youโve lost your way this Christmas, you can run to your Fatherโs house because Heโs running to you to welcome you home.
Each Angel represents someone specialโa child from our congregation, a local school, or a senior citizen served by our Seniors Outreach Ministry. Thank you to all of our amazing volunteers for helping make this happen and to our church family for helping provide a special Christmas for so many! ๐ซถ
